Transportation

While we do not provide transportation services ourselves, we understand it can be a big barrier that prevents someone from getting vaccinated. Therefore, we have compiled a list of transportation services available to various populations.

For all Berkshire County residents:

Wheels for Wellness provides free transportation for Berkshire County residents to medical appointments, including vaccine appointments. They are available Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5PM. If interested, please call (413) 499-9345 to schedule transportation.

For MassHealth members:

MassHealth is providing free transportation to vaccine appointments for any individual with any type of MassHealth coverage or the Health Safety Net. This includes people with MassHealth Limited, Children’s Medical Security Program (CMSP) and MassHealth Family Assistance (FA).

To schedule transportation for your vaccine appointment, contact your provider and ask that they complete a PT-1 form, which will require your MassHealth ID number and the address which you will be picked up from if different than your home address.

MassHealth members who are enrolled in a Senior Care Options or One Care plan or in a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) should continue to contact their health plan or PACE provider to request help with transportation.

Members can visit the MassHealth webpage or call MassHealth customer service at (800) 841-2900 for more information on COVID-19 vaccines.

For members of Berkshire Fallon Health Collaborative (Medicaid ACO):

ACO members can call Fallon customer service at 1-855-203-4660 and let them know they are requesting transportation for a vaccine appointment. Customer service will notify the ACO clinical team who will reach out and assist the member.

For residents with disabilities:

AdLib, Inc., in collaboration with County Rainbow Taxi (CRT), is offering no-cost transportation to receive COVID vaccinations. This service is only for Berkshire County residents with disabilities. If interested, please call AdLib’s main office at 413-442-7047.  Names of eligible residents will be given to CRT to expedite the scheduling process. Eligible residents will schedule their ride with CRT after scheduling a confirmed vaccination appointment.

For older adult residents:

Elder Services of Berkshire County, Inc. is providing free transportation to and from any medical appointments, including vaccine appointments. This service is only for Berkshire County residents aged 65 years or older. While there is no out-of-pocket cost, the service is available on certain conditions:

1) Drivers are only available to pick up or drop off between Monday-Friday 8AM-4PM.

2) Transportation must be requested at least 48 hours prior to the appointment.

3) Patients must be able to enter and exit a car without assistance.

To schedule transportation to your vaccine appointment with Elder Services of Berkshire County, Inc., please call (413) 449-0524, ext. 109 to speak with Peggy Zamierowski.

Your town’s local Council on Aging may also be able to assist with transportation needs. Phone numbers and hours of operation vary per town. For more information, please search ‘TOWN Council on Aging’ online using your town’s name.
